Indirect cyberbullying


What is it?

Indirect cyberbullying is the repeated, negative use of actions, which are neither physical nor verbal, to intentionally hurt others online cyberbullying by proxy is using others to help cyberbully, either with or without the accomplice's knowledge.

Catfishing

The bully creates a fake online identity to befriend the victim, gather personal information, and then use that information to encourage others to harass the victim.

The cyberbully could hack into the victim’s social media or email accounts and send harmful messages to others in the victim's name, damaging their reputation and relationships.

The cyberbully convinces or tricks friends or peers into cyberbullying the victim. They might spread false information or rumors to incite others to harass the victim.
